Excursion Day:
The excursion day is Wednesday.
During the high season, due to high demand, we might also offer the excursion on Saturdays. Feel free to ask us about this.
Excursion Prices:
Adults: 60 euros per person.
Children: 50 euros per person.
For this excursion, child pricing applies to children aged 9 and under.
The excursion prices include the ferry tickets. The entrance fees for Melissani Lake (10 euros) and Drogarati Cave (6 euros) are not included in the prices.
When the ferry boat starts its routes for summer, we can begin our Kefalonia tour. This is normally around the 15th of May, and the last tour of the season is around the 10th of October.
The lunch is not included in the excursion prices. If you prefer to bring your own lunch box, you are welcome to do so.
We offer free transfers from nearly all Zakynthos resorts, including Zakynthos Town, Akrotiri, Tsilivi–Planos, Tragaki, Kypseli, Alykes, Alykanas, Argasi, Kalamaki, Laganas, Lithakia, Agios Sostis, and Koukla.

Tour Program
The distinctive aspect of this Kefalonia Island Tour is that we travel by luxury coach on a unique itinerary designed by Nefis Travel. On this Kefalonia day trip, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the island’s top attractions, meet the locals, and experience their warm Kefalonian hospitality.
The excursion starts early in the morning with transfers from nearly all Zakynthos resorts. We then head to Agios Nikolaos, the northernmost part of Zakynthos, where the local ferry will take us to the neighboring island of Kefalonia. The ferry ride offers breathtaking views of both islands, and there’s even a chance to spot dolphins along the way!
Upon arrival at the small harbor of Pessada, on the southern tip of Kefalonia, we resume our island tour. We visit Kefalonia’s stunning natural highlights, including a panoramic photo stop at the famous Myrtos Beach. Next, we explore the enchanting Melissani Lake, a hidden gem discovered in the 1950s. This cave-lake, also known as the Lake of the Nymphs, is adorned with ancient stalactites dating back 16,000 to 20,000 years. The sunlight reflecting on the crystal-clear waters creates mesmerizing shades of green and blue. Here, we’ll take a memorable boat ride inside the cave to fully experience its magic.Our next stop on this unique Kefalonia tour is the Drogarati Cave, where we will walk through a fairytale-like world of stalagmites and stalactites. This geological wonder is known for its impressive acoustics, which is why concerts are occasionally held inside! You might even test your own Greek X-Factor talent!
Another highlight of our Kefalonia excursion is lunch at a picturesque seaside taverna. Here, you’ll have time to savor delicious Greek cuisine, take a refreshing swim, or explore a nearby famous lake - all while admiring the breathtaking views of Ithaca, the legendary island of King Odysseus. After lunch, we continue our journey through a valley of vineyards before heading deep into the majestic mountains of Kefalonia, taking in spectacular views of Mount Ainos National Park.
We then visit the Monastery of Saint Gerasimos, the patron saint of Kefalonia. The convent is still in daily use, and the friendly nuns will guide us to its sacred sites, including the silver shrine containing Saint Gerasimos’ holy relics and the cave where he lived for many years. This is a significant pilgrimage site for Greeks in the summer, offering a spiritually enriching experience.
On our way back to the ferry, we will stretch our legs in an authentic Kefalonian village, where you’ll be charmed by the warm hospitality of the locals. We’ll step back in time at one of the island’s oldest shops, a 'Pandapolio' owned by Mr. Niko, where you can sample traditional Kefalonian mandolates - a delightful treat that will tantalize your taste buds.

Important Information
The duration of this excursion is 11-12 hours.
The excursion price includes the ferry tickets. The child fare applies to passengers aged 9 and under. Starting from 10 years old, the adult fare is charged by the ferryboat’s rules and regulations.
The lunch is not included in the price, but it’s allowed to bring your packed lunch, which can be consumed at the beach next to the restaurant.
The excursion involves staircases on the ferryboat and at the Drogarati Cave, as well as a downhill slope at Melissani Lake.
During the high season, there may be waiting lines at Melissani Lake and occasionally at the Drogarati Cave.
If you would like to swim during the lunch stop, please bring dry clothes.
The time spent on Kefalonia may vary depending on sea conditions.
This excursion is not suitable for most children under 6 years old or for guests with mobility problems.
Sea conditions can be unpredictable, so we recommend planning the excursion early in your holiday. If changes are needed, we can easily reschedule. We’ll communicate openly and offer you the option to reschedule, receive a refund, or proceed with an alternative plan.

If you are staying in the Planos–Tsilivi resort area, you can collect your tickets and pay by debit card or cash at one of our Nefis Travel offices. Please make sure to collect and pay for your tickets at least 48 hours before the tour.
For your convenience, we also offer ticket delivery to your accommodation. We provide this service when you are staying in Argasi, Zakynthos Town, Kalamaki, Laganas, Agios Sostis/Koukla, or Tragaki. In this case, payment can be made in cash only.
If you are staying in any other resort not mentioned above, we can send you a secure online payment link for credit card or Apple Pay. Once we receive payment confirmation, your ticket will be sent via WhatsApp or email.
